Glass Chain Link Workshop

Description:

Build on your flameworking experience as you work with pre-made stringers to create elegant glass chain links. This workshop encourages you to slow down and let the glass gently bend into shape, eventually linking pieces into a beautiful handmade glass chain. A bit of torch experience recommended.

2 Thursdays, February 19th and 26th , 10am-1pm

Learn the basics of gold leafing and framing to enhance the tiny treasures you make out of stained glass scrap, trimmed with dichroic glass, frit, stringers, and anything else you can think of. Pop it in the kiln and when it comes out, add even more, such as beads, wire, stones, wood, etc. When you are satisfied with the results, mount in the frame, provided, with the gold-leafed background.  Stunner!!

In this class we will create a free standing table top stacked totem sculpture that characterises a theme. We will explore hand built forming methods such as slab, pinchip and coil building.

Beginniner/intermediate level.

Students will receive one box of clay for this project. 

Feb 19th through March 12th

Make a sassy trio of mini containers that may be used in a variety of fun ways. Participants with use a clay extruded and hand-building techniques to create these whimsical vessels

Worry Stones Workshop

Perfect for beginners! Learn to shape molten, colorful glass into smooth worry stones—or “touch stones”—using simple, soothing flameworking techniques. This is one of the easiest and most rewarding introductory projects, and you’ll leave with beautiful stones to carry or share.

Lynne will take you step by step through the process of painting of winter birch trees.
