Flameworking Sampler Workshop

Curious about flameworking? This sampler workshop offers a little bit of everything! Students will get hands-on experience working both on and off the mandrel while creating beads and marbles using soft glass.

This class is ideal for anyone wanting to explore the possibilities of flameworking in a fun, supportive environment before diving deeper into specific techniques.

Glass on a Wire Workshop - Flowers!

In this fun and fast-paced workshop, students will work with molten glass on the end of a wire to create delicate sculptural forms inspired by nature.

From flowers to whimsical organic shapes, each piece will come together into a beautiful take-home bouquet. A playful and creative class that’s perfect for all experience levels—and a wonderful way to experience the expressive side of glass.

Intro to Beadmaking Workshop

September 26th 

9 am til 12 pm  

Step into the world of glass art with this beginner-friendly workshop! Students will learn how to wind molten glass onto a mandrel, shape it into a bead, and apply simple color and decorative elements.

This hands-on experience is a wonderful way to try flameworking for the first time and is the perfect introduction before committing to a full 6-week course.

September Bouquet (Make-and-Take) with Robin Schultes

Sunday, September 27th * 9:00am - 12:00pm 

Bouquet of disk flowers, tiny buds and leaves!  In this fun and fast-paced workshop, students will work with molten glass on the end of a wire to create delicate sculptural forms inspired by nature. From flowers to whimsical organic shapes, each piece will come together into a beautiful take-home bouquet. A playful and creative class that’s perfect for all experience levels—and a wonderful way to experience the expressive side of glass.

Glass Chain Link (Make-and-Take) with Robin Schultes

Sunday, September 27th * 12:30pm - 3:30pm

Using premade stringers, students will learn how to form and assemble elegant glass chain links. A bit of torch experience is helpful but not necessary for this fun, fast-paced project. You can walk away wearing your new masterpiece!

This is a make-and-take class. Use a stationary torch to create enameled copper Halloween shapes for earrings. Basic torch safety will be discussed. All materials are included.

IMPORTANT: Students taking glass courses using a torch must wear natural fiber clothing (i.e., cotton shirt and denim jeans), closed-toe shoes, and hair tied back and out of the way. Loose clothing that will be in the way of the torch is strongly discouraged. Please wear clothing that is not essential to your wardrobe. AN N95 RESPIRATION MASK IS REQUIRED FOR YOUR SAFETY.

Try your hand at making blown-glass ornaments. Using an oxygen-propane torch, students will learn basic techniques for using pre-blown glaskolben to make blown-glass ornaments. Frit will be used to add color to the clear glaskolben. Learning how to control heat, gravity and blowing techniques will determine your success. Creating these colorful ornaments will provide students a basis for working glass further in the torch. Each student will be provided 6 glaskolben. When you pick up your ornaments, be sure to bring packing material and a small container to transport your ornaments to the safety of your home. Basic torch safety will be discussed. Beginning/Intermediate Flameworking (4 weeks) with Robin Schultes

4 Sundays: October 4th, 11th, 18th & 25th *  9:00 AM – 12:00 PM

Dive into the world of molten glass and discover the art of beadmaking! In this beginner-friendly class, you’ll learn how to build beads on the mandrel, shape them with confidence, and add simple, colorful designs. In a welcoming and safe studio environment, you’ll get comfortable working with the flame while exploring your creativity. The perfect place to begin your flameworking journey as well as a continuation for our intermediate students.
