The studio is open to students currently enrolled in a series of classes or with the instructor's approval. This time is supervised but not instructional.

Member-2-Member:  Lost Wax Casting (MEMBERS ONLY)

Friday, May 17th, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., with a follow-up session on Saturday & Sunday

Lost wax casting is a process where a carved, manufactured wax object, an object from nature, is investing in fast-drying investment (plaster).  It is burned out over 8 hours.  While the flasks are still hot, they are loaded into a centrifuge or vacuum container, and molten metal is poured and formed.  They are shaken out in cool water and then cleaned up and finished

Sterling Silver Textured Synclastic Cuff Bracelet

Tuesday, June 4th, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. 

Ages:  14+ years old

Create a sterling silver cuff with a rolling mill texture.  Use the hydraulic press to form it into a beautiful synclastic curve.  Finish by filing, sanding, and polishing.  

Double Anticlastic Copper Cuff

Tuesday, June 11th, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Ages:  14+ years old

Create a stunning copper cuff. We will use shears and a hydraulic press and finish with files/sanding and polishing.  

Sterling Silver Domed Hollow Pendant

Tuesday, June 18th, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Ages:  16+ years old

Create wearable art with a textured dome pendant. Techniques: rolling mill texture, hydraulic press doming, jewelry sawing, filing, sanding, buffing, and finishing.  

Create a copper cuff bracelet in the anticlastic beautiful form  Techniques:  cutting with shear, filing, texturing with rolling mill, forming on hydraulic press, finishing by sanding and applying patina, adding acrylic finish to inside.  Jewelry:  creative wearable art a meditative process.  

Create a sterling silver cuff: a synclastic round object of wearable art.  Techniques:  use of large metal shear, rolling mill texture, hydraulic press form, patina application.  Finish by filing, sanding and polishing.
