Participants will gather, blow and shape hot glass into small bowls/vessels. 

This class is for ages 18 and older.

Please note that participants must wear closed toed shoes, natural fibers clothes and long hair needs to be pulled back. 

Worry Stones Workshop

Students will learn basic flameworking techniques in this introductory class. You’ll get to melt beautiful colors of glass and shape them into worry stones, or “touch stones,” which are perfect for carrying in your pocket or gifting to a friend. It’s a wonderful way to get started with flameworking and have a tangible, beautiful piece at the end.

Blown Glass Ornaments Using Glaskolben

Try your hand at making blown-glass ornaments. Using an oxygen-propane torch, students will learn basic techniques for using pre-blown glaskolben to make blown-glass ornaments. Frit will be used to add color to the clear glaskolben. Learning how to control heat, gravity and blowing techniques will determine your success. Creating these colorful ornaments will provide students a basis for working glass further in the torch. Each student will be provided 6 glaskolben. When you pick up your ornaments, be sure to bring packing material and a small container to transport your ornaments to the safety of your home. Basic torch safety will be discussed.IMPORTANT: Students taking glass courses using a torch must wear natural fiber clothing (i.e., cotton shirt and denim jeans), closed-toe shoes, and hair tied back and out of the way. Loose clothing that will be in the way of the torch is strongly discouraged. Please wear clothing that is not essential to your wardrobe.

Flameworking Sampler Workshop

Curious about flameworking? This introductory workshop gives you hands-on experience with the torch as you explore bead-making, marble shaping, and simple borosilicate sculpting. Students will also create a bead stand and marble stand to take home.

Just in time for your Thanksgiving table-you can blow your own glass pumpkin!

This class is for ages 18 and over.

Discover the mesmerizing art of marble making! Students will work with soft glass rods to create unique, colorful marbles while learning basic shaping and design techniques.

Glass Icicle Ornaments

Make your own crystal clear, sparkling glass icicle ornaments. We will discuss basic safety techniques for the studio as well as work in the oxygen-fuel torch using borosilicate glass to practice making loops for the top of the ornament as well as make the ornament itself.

IMPORTANT: Students taking glass courses using a torch must wear natural fiber clothing (i.e., cotton shirt and denim jeans), closed-toe shoes, and hair tied back and out of the way. Using premade stringers, students will learn how to form and assemble elegant glass chain links. A bit of torch experience is required for this fun, fast-paced project.
