ACA metalsmith studio is a state of the art facility with  natural gas and oxygen torches, rolling mill and numerous texture plates, buffers, large overhead shears, pickle pots, flex shafts and lathe with abundant attachments, hydraulic press with a full complement of bending and cutting accessories, and a full assortment of hand equipment.  The fee for Open Hours is 5 dollars per hour.  In addition to signing up https://adriancenterforthearts.org/classes/categories/metalsmithing-jewelry/, please text Annemarie at 708 287-9085 for the dates you are attending before 24 hours of the allotted hours (This facilitates communication for weather closures, staffing, availability communication).  Open hours expire at the end each month so come on in.  There is a monitor in attendance but no actual scheduled teaching.  Participants can use tools with which they are competent and comfortable.  All safety precautions are to be followed and are posted.  Looking forward to great times together making wearable art.  Want more details, want to schedule a tour:  text or email.

Beginning metalsmith jewelry series

Learn beginning skills in metalsmithing: cut, texture, bend metal into beautiful wearable art. Create rings, earrings, bracelets and pendants

Lost wax casting club

Learn or refresh Advanced jewelry technique: make mold of tiny bits of nature, buttons and minitures or carve your own design; kiln burn out; create molten metals with acetylene torch, gravity induced centrifugal casting, finishing.

Join us in February for nature impression jewelry. We will fabricate copper pendants strung on leather cord. Techniques and equipment:  imprint- rolling mill and hammer, shape cut-die punch, doming-block, finishing-files and sand paper. Bring a few objects found in nature.  participants

Create a keychain or pendent of a cherished logo: sports team, organization, meaningful symbol on a 1.25 inch disk. You will learn beginning jewelry skills (disc cutter, patina, rolling mill, drilling, filing, and sanding) to create beautiful wearable art. Additionally you will be determing emboss or conclave paper art design.
