Myths and Monsters

Spend a week exploring new and different worlds. Using a variety of media participants will create art about mythical creatures, fairies and trolls, aliens and monsters. Projects will include 2-Dimensional and 3-dimensional explorations and will have your learner pushing their imagination from the inner dimensions to the outer limits.  Emphasis is on creating characters and bringing them to life in unique ways

9 am-12 pm M-F  July 14-18

EXPERIMENTS IN FUSING

Mondays, 3 weeks, July 14, 21, 28, 10 am – 12 pm. 

 Try everything – color, texture, enameling, frit, added embellishments,

3D, 2D – and, yes, even glue! All on small sample pieces which

you will arrange and frame, ready to hang on your wall and enjoy!

Each workshop becomes a vibrant sanctuary for artists to mold raw materials into stunning expressions of creativity.

Learn how to make a beautiful  set of 12“ x 12“hymnal page angel wings using the hymn “amazing grace.”

In this step-by-step class, you will learn how to make a hymnal Page cone, after cones have been completed, you will then learn how to “feather in” your 12“ x 12“ angel wings.

Floral centers will be available at an additional cost of $6.99. floral centers are premade in neutral colors. Floral centers are optional.

Bracelet workshop

Tuesday from 1-4pm for 2 sessions

This class is appropriate for the beginner but advance beginner can make more complex art.  This studio class will use bracelets as a palette for designing elaborate cuff bracelets. Techniques include cutting, texture, bending and coloring utilizing traditional and modern techniques.  Open studio is available in price between dates. We will work in copper, brass and nickel.  Silver will be available at cost (extra). 

Ages 14 and above 

Artists are expected to work in a medium they have prior experience with. Open studio hours are not intended as time to learn a new medium/form of printmaking but as time to practice and experiment with something already experienced..The studio monitor may not be familiar with all media/techniques/pieces of equipment and is there to assist in finding materials, monitoring safe practices and effective clean-up, and the like. Artists attending open studio may make reasonable use of supplied inks and adhesives/mediums and use up to one full sheet of good printmaking paper (approx. 22" x 30") per session. (Additional paper will be provided for proofing.) Additional sheets of printmaking paper may be purchased at $5/sheet. Other materials are the responsibility of the artist attending open studio. Please bring correct cash or checks (no change will be available nor will credit/debit cards be acceptable.)
