Celebrate the season in glass! Students will create a range of autumn-themed beads, pendants, and miniature sculptures using soft glass. A creative and festive way to expand your skills.

Learn the foundations of soft glass beadmaking! We’ll cover how to build beads on the mandrel, shape them with precision, and design patterns using dots and simple techniques. Perfect for beginners ready to explore molten glass.

Students will learn basic flameworking techniques in this introductory class. You’ll get to melt beautiful colors of glass and shape them into worry stones, or “touch stones,” which are perfect for carrying in your pocket or gifting to a friend. It’s a wonderful way to get started with flameworking and have a tangible, beautiful piece at the end.

 

1 session  •  3 hours per session

Making Faces with Amy Philp

This class will cover the shape of the face and correct placement and modeling of the features: eyes, mouth, nose and ears. Faces will be slow dried, fired and ready for students to pick up in 2-3 weeks. After firing, the faces can be glazed or painted.

Take your beadmaking to the next level! This class focuses on refining technique and control while tailoring projects to each student’s goals. Learn to make stringers, cane, and more to elevate your designs.

Curious about flameworking? This introductory workshop gives you hands-on experience with the torch as you explore bead-making, marble shaping, and simple borosilicate sculpting. Students will also create a bead stand and marble stand to take home.
