Torch Enamel on Copper Jewelry I

Saturday, March 28 th 1-4 pm

Materials: $25 included

Ages: 16 and up

This is a make-and-take class. Use a stationary torch to create enameled copper shapes for earrings and other jewelry. Basic torch safety will be discussed. Several techniques will be explored, including cutouts, sgraffito, and color blending. All materials are included.

IMPORTANT: Students taking glass courses using a torch must wear natural fiber clothing (i.e., cotton shirt and denim jeans), closed-toe shoes, and hair tied back and out of the way. Loose clothing that will be in the way of the torch is strongly discouraged. Please wear clothing that is not essential to your wardrobe. AN N95 RESPIRATION MASK IS REQUIRED for your safety.

SWARM!

Summer is coming but so are the bugs. Create your own swarm of three to decorate your walls but not annoy you! Using slabs and coils handbuild and for those experienced in throwing learn how to make an enclosed forms. Decorate with colorful slips and learn a technique called scraffitto to make your swarm truly unique

Tuesday April 7, 2026 thru May 12, 2026 1:00pm - 3:00pm

Six weeks of a creative learning experience. SOFT PASTEL is pure pigment in stick form. You will learn how to use this stick tool to create your Art. You will also learn how to transform this pastel to a liquidpaint, as a background wash. Pastel pencils will also be used.

Bring to class: Sketchbook, any soft pastels you have, a printed photo reference, apron, paint cloth.

ACA will furnish: Papers, some pastels, easels and backboards.

Create a textured flared wide ring with an overlayed half round band using beginning and intermediate techniques.Copper no additional.

Sterling Silver Celtic Ring

No prior expereince needed. You will learn simple solder techniques and use beginning jewelry (shear, patina, rolling mill, filing and sanding) skills to create beautiful wearable art.

Acrylic Painting

Tues May 19 to June 23, 2026 (6 weeks) 10:00am - 12:00pm

In six weeks learn to control acrylic and your creativity will bloom. Acrylic can be applied several ways. You will be introduced to knife and brush techniques, from impasto to thin as watercolor. Come enjoy the experience.

Bring to class: Sketchbook, tube acrylics, a printed photo reference, apron, paint cloth or paper towels.

ACA will furnish: Canvases, easels, paper palettes.
