HALLOWEEN WITCHES OR CREEPY CRAWLIES

Linda Jacobs, Instructor

Add an artistic little witch or a bat, or a spider, or a pumpkin, or . . . . . . whatever you want! Learn how to cut glass and use all the tools. Bring in a picture or draw what you want, and have fun. When your pieces are cut, they will be embellished and trimmed and fused together in the kiln and then refired and slumped on a mold to create a standup person or creature. You claim the bragging rights!

Time: Thursdays 10am-12, September 17 & 24

Creativity is in the air at Acorn Studios...join this class and learn new techniques and tips in using the medium of Soft Pastel. You will be introduced to several types of paper, also using Pastel as a "wet" medium. 

Bring to class: Any soft pastels you have on hand, a printed photo for reference, & an apron. ACA will provide: paper, soft pastels, paint cloths & easels.

Intro to Beadmaking Workshop

9 am til 12 pm  

Step into the world of glass art with this beginner-friendly workshop! Students will learn how to wind molten glass onto a mandrel, shape it into a bead, and apply simple color and decorative elements.

This hands-on experience is a wonderful way to try flameworking for the first time and is the perfect introduction before committing to a full 6-week course.

Pottery Sampler

Learn a variety of ceramic techniques including forming with soft and leatherhard slab, throwing on the potters wheel and glazing. It will be fast paced but suited for beginners with the support of an experienced teacher to help insure your success. In the end you will create a minium of seven completed works. Generous studio time outside of class will allow you to practice your new found skills.
