Forage and Feast at Lindisfarne with Jill Shaffer
Saturday, September 5th * 10:00am - 12:00pm
Join hostess Lindesfarne owners Andy and Cathrine King and Plant expert Jill Shaffer on a food adventure. You will need your walking shoes, a notebook & pen, a camera, and a shopping bag as you walk part of the 80 acre homestead to learn about nature's abundance. Things you think are weeds are edible, nutritious and delicious!
Along the walk, Jill will point out various plants and how they can be used for food. You can pick some for your use. Her knowledge and enthusiasm for foraging and cooking with these surprising plants is matched by her kitchen skills. After the walk, folks will gather for some tasty treats prepared by Jill for the event, including a soup, a salad and quiche made with foraged ingredients. Please be prepared to walk on uneven ground and to be in nature, including an outdoor composting toilet and a dry sink. Bring your own beverage.

TINY LINO PRINT SERIES - SEED PACKETS
with Kadi Franson
TINY LINO PRINT SERIES - SEED PACKETS with Kadi Franson
Sunday, September 27th * 1:00pm - 4:00pm * Ages: 15+
Many plants are going to seed—but where to put them all? In hand-printed packets, of course! In this workshop, we will make small block prints to stamp onto seed packets; a handmade touch for labeling seeds for next year’s planting cycle, giving as gifts, or contributing to a free little seed library. This will be a fun, enjoyable process that will provide a low-stakes introduction to linocut printmaking.
Everyone will leave with their own set of stamped packets and a custom block print to continue using at home. Feel free to bring a few photo references or drawings of the plant you will be depicting to use in your designs.
The workshop fee covers all material costs. Beginners welcome!
